Language Summer Camp
Rising Kindergarten through Grade 6 students
Transport your children a world away with our Language Summer Camp, hosted in partnership with Indiana University's Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. Offered in French, Mandarin, Spanish, and Arabic, children will enjoy immersive language instruction and hands-on activities directed by native experts right here in Indianapolis! At the conclusion of each week, children in French, Mandarin, Spanish, and Arabic Camp will be granted an Indiana University Certificate of Participation.
No prior language experience is required. The content does not repeat and is not reliant on the previous week's content, so campers are invited to join at any point during the four-week period!
Who - Incoming kindergarten through grade 6 students are invited to participate in the Language Summer Camp. This camp is open to all students in the Central Indiana area – it is not required to attend ISI in order to participate.
When - Camps run from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. during the following dates:
- June 22-26 (5-day week)
- June 29-July 3 (4-day week); no camp on July 3
- July 6-10 (5-day week)
- July 13-17 (5-day week)
After care is available from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Where - Chen Family Lower School on the International School of Indiana campus | 4330 N. Michigan Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46208
Cost: $299 per week* (lunch is not included—campers should bring snacks, a water bottle, and lunch daily). ISI families are offered a discounted rate of $283. Rates are prorated to $239 ($200 for ISI families) the week of June 29.
*For the past three years, the Arabic Summer Camp has been offered at no cost to participants thanks to a generous grant from the Qatar Foundation International (QFI) to the Indiana University Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. QFI will announce its 2026 funding decisions in the spring. Registration is no cost, other than a $26 programming fee. Should the ISI-IU program not be funded, families will be notified and will receive the option to either pay the regular ISI fee or revoke their registration.
Flexible options - Not sure which language to select? Try them all! Participants can sign up for multiple languages with no experience required, as camps are offered at beginner and intermediate levels.
Language Offerings
Camp Lunch Add-On
Families may choose to add lunch for the week or send campers with their own lunch from home. If you select the lunch add-on, lunch will be provided each camp day for your camper. The lunch add-on is $28 per week (prorated to $23 for four-day camp weeks) and can be selected during registration.
Please note that we are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions or food allergies, and campers with special dietary needs should bring their own lunch.
