Uniform and Dress Code
- The school plaid is the Lands’ End “Clear Blue” plaid.
- All shirts are to have the school logo on them.
- White, navy, light blue and orange (Lands’ End “ Orange Spice”) shirts are an approved option.
- Our official uniform providers are LandsEnd.com and Sears.com.
- Items that fit the dress code can be found at other retailers, but parents must ensure they are consistent with the items available from our preferred vendors.

For purchases made at other local stores, Village Custom Embroidery in Zionsville will add the ISI school logo. Appointments can be scheduled via 317.733.3110 or www.villagecustomembroidery.com.
About Pants, Shorts
Pants or shorts should be proportioned to fit at the waist. Shorts must be no shorter than mid-thigh and must extend to the end of the fingertips of the student when the student’s arms are straight down by his/her side.
About Skirts, Skorts, Jumpers
Style is not restricted, but only one plaid is approved. Skirts or skorts must be no shorter than mid-thigh and must extend to the end of the fingertips of the student when the student’s arms are straight down by his/her side. Jumpers must have the school logo on the left side of the chest.
About Shirts
Short-sleeved or long-sleeved polo shirts, long-sleeved turtleneck shirts, and button-down collared shirts are acceptable either alone or under sweaters or sweatshirts. All shirts must have the ISI logo on the left side of the chest. No brand marks other than the ISI logo shall be worn. Tank tops, spaghetti straps, and shirts exposing the midriff are not permitted at any grade level.
About Sweaters, Sweatshirts
Sweaters and sweatshirts must bear the ISI logo on the left side of the chest and be layered with a collared shirt or turtleneck with the ISI logo. Gryphon Gear sweatshirts are acceptable on modified dress code days or during gym classes (though only in orange, navy and gray).
About Shoes
Footwear should be sturdy and appropriate for the playground and gym class. Sandals may be worn as long as they have a strap across the back. No flip-flops or slippers may be worn at school.
About Gym Wear
Students 3 year old through grade 3 do not change clothes for physical education classes. Students in grades 1 through 3 should bring gym shoes. Grades 4 and 5 have the option to change for gym. Students should have shorts, t-shirt, and athletic shoes. Students in Grade 6 through 10 are required to change clothing (shirts and shorts) and wear athletic shoes during Physical Education class. There is not a required gym uniform. Grades 11 and 12 do not participate in Physical Education.
About Outerwear
Recess and active play are an important part of a student’s day. Students should be dressed according to the weather. Hats, gloves, and boots should be worn in cold weather for outside play.
