David Garner came to the International School of Indiana from his previous post in the Netherlands, before which he was the Head of School for an International School in Prague. David has extensive experience with curriculum design and development. Under David’s leadership, the International School of Indiana has grown significantly and is on a robust academic path forward. David led the introduction of the International Baccalaureate Primary and Middle Years programs, making ISI one of only a handful of schools in the US with the full IB curriculum continuum. The School’s IB Diploma results have consistently exceeded global benchmarks, and the High School has earned recognition from the Washington Post for the past six years as one of the top high schools in the nation. David also launched ISI’s Mandarin immersion track and introduced Mandarin into the Middle and High School. David has also moonlighted as a TEDx speaker and a guitar player for both school and public events. He lives in Indiana with his French wife, ISI teacher, Sylvie Garner and is a proud parent of ISI alum, Nathalie Garner (’09).

Trina Haygaru is a Midwesterner who has spent many years in international schools overseas, including Mozambique, Egypt, and Thailand. She joined us from her position as Elementary Principal of an international school in Nigeria. She has a Masters in School Leadership, is certified in cross-cultural, language and academic development is experienced in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program and has a particular interest in children learning in a second language. She has visited over 25 countries and has worked in five. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband John, who comes from Tanzania.
Timothy Veale, Upper School Principal

Tim Veale is a Canadian citizen with teaching and administrative experience in international schools in Russia, Thailand, Pakistan, Turkey, and Denmark. Before coming to the International School of Indiana, he spent eight years as founding head and principal at the Esbjerg International School in Esbjerg, Denmark. He joined the school as not only Upper School Principal, but also as the parent of a nine-year-old in the Lower School. His wife Lizette, who is Danish, came with him to Indiana. Tim has a Bachelor’s in History and Geography, a Bachelor of Education in High School Social Studies and a Masters in Educational Administration. He has worked with all three International Baccalaureate programs and was the Middle Years Program coordinator at his school in Turkey.

James “Jim” Ewing has 36 years of management experience in finance, operations, and strategic and operational consulting. Jim began his career in public accounting and is a non-practicing certified public accountant. Jim has significant experience in nonprofit, healthcare, health insurance, financial institution, transportation and logistics, manufacturing, service and consulting industries, which gives Jim the well-rounded background to provide executive leadership to ISI.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science at Manchester University (formerly Manchester College). He and his spouse Deb live in Carmel, Indiana, where they raised three children. Deb is a Manager at PwC and a graduate of St. Joseph’s College.
Kristen Kaiser, CFRE, VICE PRESIDENT For Development & External Affairs

B.A. in communications from DePauw University
Kristen began her career with Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity in 2000 as an Educational Leadership Consultant. She subsequently served Kappa Alpha Theta in various roles, including Fraternity Assistant Director of Chapter Services and Foundation Director of Development.
Kristen was recruited to serve as the first Director of Business Development for Willow Marketing Management, a marketing firm based in Indianapolis. In 2012 Kristen returned to Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation as the organization’s Director of Marketing. She was charged with establishing the strategic communications and fund development framework for the Foundation’s first major fundraising campaign in more than three decades. The Foundation Board of Trustees selected her as Executive Director in 2013. As Executive Director, Kristen led the Foundation through a history-making campaign that engaged more than 2,400 donors nationwide and secured $5.2 million to establish endowments for two of the organization’s most-pressing funding priorities: the Educational Leadership Consultant program and a new need-based scholarship program.
A native of Indianapolis, Kristen and her husband, Greg Kaiser, reside there with their young sons.
Kate lock, Director of Admissions (Lower School)

Kate Lock is a world traveler who has lived in England, Zambia, Iran, Canada, and the United States. Prior to coming to the International School of Indiana, Kate worked for Bayer Healthcare as their Western Key Account Manager and for Eli Lilly (Canada) as their National Key Account Manager. Kate also has two children at the School and has been an ISI parent for ten years.
Natalie Wolfe, Director of Admissions (Upper School) & International Student Services

As an educator for over 20 years, Natalie has worked with children in the area of education and development from birth through High School and has extensive training in Educational Leadership in the areas of Challenge Education and Team Building Initiatives. Natalie served as Vice President of the International School Board for several years, was chair of the Enrollment Committee and served as a member of the Academic Committee.
Natalie is a member of several Associations and including the National Association of International Educators, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a member of the Children’s Coalition of Indiana, and has served as an Advisory Board member for several School Community Improvement Teams. Natalie has three children, all who have benefited from their International School education, and an International alumna attending Xavier University.
