What is the ISI difference?
We are the only Indiana school offering all enrolled students access to
certified full-continuum International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and
full language immersion for students starting at age 3.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) programs aim to do more than other curricula. IB programs develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are motivated to succeed. The IB gives students distinct advantages by building their critical thinking skills, nurturing their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.
The IB strives to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect, alongside a healthy appetite for learning and excellence.
ISI is the only Indiana school offering language immersion in three languages; French, Mandarin and Spanish. The focus is on developing fluency in speaking, reading, writing and understanding, so students can actively participate in their target language.
As there is no previous language experience required to attend ISI at any grade level, students who are new to language learning are provided specialized programming and attain language skills at a different stage to their grade level peers.

Using our play-based and inquiry-based PYP curriculum, our teachers, all of whom are native speakers of the target language as well as English-proficient, work with and empower our young students to question, problem solve, take action, and reflect.
Grades 1 - 5
This is a time when students begin taking an even more significant role in directing their own hands-on learning and finding answers to their questions. We believe in encouraging our students to be curious, critical thinkers, inquirers and reflect on what they have learned.
Grades 6 - 8
The ISI Middle School represents the transitional years between elementary and high school. Grades 6 to 8 see students taking on new academic challenges, additional extracurricular options, and opportunities to grow as responsible, independent thinkers.
