A NEW ERA.
A NEW VISION OF WHAT’S POSSIBLE AS ONE ISI.
The International School of Indiana has a tradition of being unafraid to make bold choices. This is why our school is like no other in Indiana or even the Midwest. A distinctive educational program combining the International Baccalaureate curriculum with foreign language fluency, cultural awareness, and an appreciation for diversity has become a hallmark of an ISI education.
For nearly three decades, ISI has boldly pursued its vision to bring the world to Indiana, readying students to enter the next stage in their lives with the confidence to be responsible citizens and effective leaders. From its first classrooms opening on 42nd Street, to the creative collaboration with Butler University to open the 49th Street Building, to raising the Michigan Road Campus in 2000, and to being undeterred by the uncertainty of a global pandemic and proceeding with plans to unify the entire school community on a single campus by constructing the Chen Family Lower School and Daneri Family Gymnasium, ISI has remained bold in its endeavors.
Our newly unified campus has ushered in a new era at ISI and new opportunities to envision the institution's future. Those who have worked so hard to establish and build ISI into what it is today recognize that further investments are essential to not only protect and preserve our facilities, people, and experiences but also to allow ISI to reach its full potential.
Today, ISI faces a future with endless possibilities for growing and strengthening our school.
Campaign Vision
In the spring of 2022, with the goal of becoming ONE ISI achieved, a strategic visionary task force began the exciting work of envisioning the possibilities for the future of ISI. The task force looked to the future with three clear priorities.
A LETTER FROM THE CAMPAIGN CO-CHAIRS
Dear ISI Community,
We are thrilled to serve as co-chairs for the International School of Indiana’s $14 million fundraising campaign—a transformative effort that celebrates ISI’s remarkable journey and charts a bold course for its future.
For over a decade, our families have had the privilege of journeying through ISI together. Our sons, Pax and Potter, first met in the 3-year-old Mandarin immersion class and remained classmates through 8th grade. Over the years, we’ve seen them grow not only academically, but also in character, curiosity, and cultural fluency. They are becoming global citizens in the truest sense of the word: empathetic, open-minded, and confident in who they are and how they relate to the world.
What has always set ISI apart is its unique ability to prepare students for more than just academic success. It builds a foundation of language, perspective, and international awareness that shapes how our children see themselves and their place in the world. We believe deeply in this mission, and this campaign is a crucial step in ensuring it continues for generations to come.
The campaign will support three essential initiatives. First, it establishes ISI’s first-ever endowment, a long-overdue and vital step to provide financial stability and protect the legacy of this incredible institution. Second, it will invest in Upper School academic and athletic programs that will enhance the Upper School experience. Third, it will provide funding for remodeling projects and new facilities that will enhance the Upper School experience, providing students with the space, resources, and pride that come with strong academic, extracurricular, and athletic identity.
This is more than a fundraising campaign. It’s a commitment to ISI’s next chapter— a chapter that builds on 30 years of excellence and ensures that future students continue to benefit from the rich, global education our children have received.
We have witnessed the strength of this community. The teachers and staff who invest deeply in our children, families who support one another, and alumni who carry ISI’s mission into the world. We hope you’ll join us in supporting this campaign, not only with a donation, but as a meaningful investment in our shared community and in the leaders of tomorrow.
With gratitude,
Allison and Stan Chen
