Balance and Maturity for the Challenge Ahead
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is one of the components at the heart of the IB Diploma Programme. In his or her CAS project, each student addresses the following areas through experiential learning outside of the classroom.
- Creativity: Arts and other experiences that involve creative thinking.
- Activity: Physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle, complementing academic work done elsewhere in the IB Diploma Programme.
- Service: An unpaid, voluntary activity with a learning benefit for the student. The rights, dignity, and autonomy of all those involved are respected.
A successful CAS experience should be enjoyable as well as challenging. CAS is a personal journey of self-discovery. It brings the students’ past and future endeavors into focus. It can truly be a life-changing experience.
