Families, students, alumni, and supporters of the International School of Indiana (ISI) are invited to celebrate the Commencement Ceremony of the Class of 2019 on Friday, May 24, at 5:00 p.m.
Hosted in the historic Scottish Rite Cathedral in Downtown Indianapolis, this year's ceremony will feature a keynote address to graduates by the the Governor of the State of Indiana, the Honorable Eric Holcomb.
Pre-event preparationsAnnouncements, Caps and Gowns
Orders for graduation announcements as well as caps and gowns should have been completed by students in April through ISI vendor Herff Jones.
Those still requiring announcements can purchased a 5-pack at a rate of $10.15. Announcement-pack purchases or related questions can be sent to Linda Weiss, administrative assistant to the Upper School Principal, at email@example.com.
Ceremony Practice, May 15, 1:00 p.m.
All senior students are required to complete a walkthrough of the planned ceremony on site at the Scottish Rite Cathedral on Wednesday, May 15.
Graduates will be required to bring their gowns and caps for practice. Tassels will be distributed by ISI staff at the start of practice and collected upon its completion.
It is highly recommended that graduates practice in the same footwear that they will wear to the ceremony. They also should plan to arrive to practice in clothing that meets the event's dress code standards.
Parent Breakfast, May 24, 8:30 a.m.
Hosted at the Taurel Builidng, all senior-student parents will be honored during this long-standing tradition the morning of Commencement day.
Parents are asked to RSVP by May 15.
Student Locker Clear-Out, May 24
Students must remove all personal belongings from campus lockers by May 24.
ISI facilities will clean out lockers on Tuesday, May 28. Parents may incur a fee for the removal of any items found in lockers at that time.
Event ArrivalArrival Time
Graduates are asked to arrive at the Scottish Rite Cathedral for commencement at 3:45 p.m.
This early arrival time facilitates the taking of the Class of 2019 official picture in advance of the ceremony.
Doors to the event venue will open to the public at 4:30 p.m. Please note that there is no reserved seating, and seats will be available on a first come first served basis only.
The Commencement Ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m.
The ceremony dress code is a minimum business casual for all attendees.
Graduates should be in dress slacks or skirts. Open-toed dress shoes are acceptable. Flip flops and other casual open-toed shoes are prohibited.
Free parking is available in the lots adjacent to the cathedral on the building's west side and north side.
Street parking via paid meter is also available along Meridian Street and other nearby streets at a rate of 25 cents per 15 minutes.
