HOW TO VOTE

In Indiana, voters have access to three types of voting: in-person on Election Day, in-person early voting, or absentee voting.

In-Person Voting on Election Day
  • If employees need to vote in-person on Election Day, they should notify their supervisors by Tuesday, October 15. This allows supervisors to ensure that classes and other duties have the necessary coverage on Election Day. Team members who are not eligible to vote and/or voted early will be asked to help with coverage on this day.
  • To find your voting location option(s) on Election Day, go to https://indianavoters.in.gov/ and click the Find Your Polling Place button. After providing the necessary information, you will gain access to your Voting Portal, which provides the address and hours of your Election Day voting location.
In-Person Early Voting (also known as Absentee-in-Person)
  • All registered Indiana voters are eligible to vote early in-person. State law requires counties to make in-person voting available 28 days before Election Day, ending one day before Election Day on Monday, November 4.
  • To find the locations and hours for early voting in your Indiana county, go to https://indianavoters.in.gov/ and click the Find Your Polling Place button. After providing the necessary information, you will gain access to your Voting Portal, which provides the addresses and hours of your Early Voting location options.
Absentee by Mail Voting
  • Registered voters who are unable to vote in person on Election Day or during early voting may apply for absentee-by-mail ballot if they will be absent from the county on Election Day, are 65 or older, are confined to a residence due to illness or injury, are caring for someone who is ill or injured, or another valid excuse (found in Section 5 of the application).
  • To apply for early voting, visit https://indianavoters.in.gov/ and click the Apply Online/Get Forms button. Complete the necessary forms by Monday, October 7, and request an absentee ballot by Thursday, October 24.
