Upper School Students Celebrate Timmy Spirit Week

With a curriculum built to connect students to the world, the Timmy Club at ISI is the most popular club offered. The Timmy Club supports Timmy Global Health, a non-profit organization that provides health and education outreach services to economically developing countries. Timmy Club is split between High School and Middle School students, called either High School Timmy or Timmy Junior depending on grade level.

Club members plan many fundraising events throughout the year, including multiple spirit weeks, penny wars, spring cleaning, the Fun Run, and student vs. staff sporting events. This past week, club members led the Upper School in the fall Timmy Spirit Week which included themed dress-up days and student vs. staff volleyball and soccer games.

“I feel like everything went great,” High School Timmy Club sponsor Yelena Sinitsky said. “We had a lot of enthusiasm from students and wonderful support from our parents and Parent Association, and good participation from staff as well.”

The Timmy Club found new ways to engage students, from having a wide range of spirit days to having students prepare the backdrops for the photobooths. Classes also competed to see who  could have the most participation on Class Colors Day. Grade 6 students won with 100% participation!

“My favorite part of the week was seeing students participate and be creative in their styles,” Timmy Junior faculty sponsor Mattie Fuchs said. “It was fun to see them come take their pictures during the photo booth time. The Timmy Junior students worked really hard on their backdrops and took full ownership in it. The members would come during their photo booth day and help direct students for the pictures and help take them. The sense of community was very apparent during the spirit week. It was warming to see, especially after the last couple of years in the pandemic.”

With the hard work of the Timmy Club, the ISI community was able to raise $1,905, making this year the most successful Timmy Week yet!
