Trivia Night 2023 Recap

ISI Community Members Enjoy an Exciting and Competitive Night of Trivia, Costumes, and Camaraderie in Support of the ISI Annual Fund

Indianapolis, IN - October 18, 2023

On Friday, October 13, ISI hosted the annual Trivia Night fundraiser attended by ISI families, staff members, past and current board members, and alumni and their families. Hosted in-person for the first time, over 100 ISI community members competed in the Trivia Night at Half Liter. The night was an exciting blend of knowledge, fun, and community spirit that brought people together to make a difference by supporting the ISI Annual Fund.

Chaired by Lower School parents Lindsay and Jack Donaldson, this is the first time the Trivia Night event has been hosted fully in-person, as the event was introduced during the pandemic. Teams competed in themed trivia, with rounds testing knowledge of international geography, presidents of all types, and songs about school.

Besides competing in trivia, teams were invited to select a theme, wear costumes, and decorate their tables to win additional prizes. Competitors selected a wide range of themes - from different decades to characters in pop culture.

Congratulations to all of our Trivia Night Winners!

Best Dressed - Lindsay and Jack Donaldson
Best Table Decorations - Smells Like Team Spirit
Trivia Winners - Who's Afraid of Geographically Dispersed Wolf?
Best in Show - Sunshine Girls

Our gratitude goes out to everyone who joined us! It was your collective enthusiasm that made this fundraiser a success. As we look ahead, we are already planning for next year's Trivia Night, aiming to make it even bigger and more impactful. Stay tuned for more information about our next Annual Fundraising Series event, ISI Night at the Zoo, on Wednesday, December 6, at the Indianapolis Zoo.

With a small but mighty team, both the Varsity and Middle School Cross Country teams were able to find ways to improve, break records, and have a great time throughout the season. The Cross Country athletes spent their season pushing themselves to gain endurance and speed. Grade 10 runners Ashwin Long and Dennis Lemoine worked hard throughout the season, reached multiple PRs, and made it to regionals and sectionals, respectively.

There is a strong emphasis on encouraging students to develop intercultural understanding, open-mindedness, and the attitudes necessary to respect and evaluate a range of points of view.

The Extended Essay is an opportunity for students to gain experience with the independent research and writing skills expected at university. Students investigate a topic they personally care about from class and create a 4,000-word piece of independent research over the course of a year.
