After an overnight journey, the group arrived in Taipei and jumped right into the energy of the city with an evening visit to the lively Ximending District. The next day, students explored Taiwan’s cultural and political history with stops at the Presidential Office and the unique Dingshan Shell Temple, before heading to the mountain town of Jiufen. With its winding streets and scenic views, Jiufen offered a glimpse into Taiwan’s past. The day ended with a stunning view of Taipei 101 lighting up the skyline.

Midweek, the group traveled south to Alishan, where they experienced Taiwan’s natural beauty firsthand. From tea plantations to bamboo forests, students immersed themselves in the region’s landscapes and traditions. An early morning train ride rewarded them with a breathtaking sunrise over Jade Mountain, followed by walks among towering ancient trees and a visit to YuYuPas Cultural Park to learn about the Tsou Indigenous culture.
