Senior Léo-Paul Perrin Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

We are proud to celebrate Senior Léo-Paul Perrin on being named a Finalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, an extraordinary academic achievement that places him among the top students in the country.

Advancing to Finalist standing is a distinction earned by fewer than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors. Out of the more than 15,000 students nationwide who have reached this level, only about 6,870 will ultimately be awarded a prestigious Merit Scholarship®. This recognition reflects not only exceptional academic performance but also sustained dedication, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to excellence over the course of a student’s high school career.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is the largest and most competitive academic scholarship competition in the United States, supported by approximately 280 independent sponsor organizations and institutions. To be named a Finalist is a testament to years of hard work, perseverance, and academic distinction.

We are incredibly proud of Léo-Paul for this outstanding accomplishment. His achievement reflects not only his personal commitment to excellence, but also the strength of our school community in supporting and challenging students to reach the highest levels.

More importantly, the coaching staff sought to create a team culture built on support, hard work, and shared success. The athletes embraced that vision and did an outstanding job fostering a positive and competitive environment throughout the season.

As the season came to a close, the Gryphons reflected on a year defined by more than standings and scores. “This season was defined not only by results, but by the friendships, growth, and memories our team created together,” Bougher said. The team's commitment to one another, combined with their on-court development, made the 2026 season one to remember.
