Season Recap: Middle School Boys Basketball

With a team consisting of many first time players, the Middle School Boys Basketball team spent the season building basic skills and team chemistry. The team saw major improvements throughout the season, with some major wins coming late in the schedule.

“My biggest goal for the team this season was for everyone to improve,” Head Coach Kenneth Hart said. “We had a lot of first time players this year, so in a sense we were starting from square one. I think we did just that. Some of the guys who only played a few minutes at the start of the year played heavy minutes for us down the stretch, and they earned every minute.”

Through the hard work of the team, they finished the year with a record of 3-8, with many players returning next year ready to keep up the work they started this season.

“My biggest goals coming into the season was to improve my basketball skills and to have a good time,” Grade 8 student Michael Kreutz said. “I want to play next year, and I want to continue improving my ball handling and my shooting.”

With a small but mighty team, both the Varsity and Middle School Cross Country teams were able to find ways to improve, break records, and have a great time throughout the season. The Cross Country athletes spent their season pushing themselves to gain endurance and speed. Grade 10 runners Ashwin Long and Dennis Lemoine worked hard throughout the season, reached multiple PRs, and made it to regionals and sectionals, respectively.
