Season Recap: High School Girls Varsity & JV Volleyball
The High School Girls' Varsity and JV Volleyball teams wrapped up an incredible season! The teams looked to capitalize on having one of the most experienced rosters in recent history, with many players returning from last year or moving up from the Middle School team. From the first serve to the final match, the players and coaches focused on building strong fundamentals and fostering unity on and off the court.
"From day one, our goal was to build on the basics and play together as a team," shared Coach Paige Heck. Adjusting to a new coaching system was a significant challenge initially, but the team embraced it with determination. "All of the girls bought into the system and rose to the challenge," said Coach Heck. Their dedication paid off, creating a season full of progress and memorable moments.
The highlight of the season was making it to the sectional finals—a testament to the team’s hard work and perseverance. "The entire team improved so much throughout the season, and I’m incredibly proud of them," Coach Heck added.
Grade 9 student Ana Cueveas-Faget reflected on her season goals and experiences. "My biggest goal was to try my best," she said. Learning that team placements weren’t determined by grade level motivated her to push herself and earn a spot on the varsity team. For Ana, the most memorable part of the season wasn’t a single moment but the overwhelming support from her teammates. "Whether it was a great kill, save, or set, we all cheered and encouraged each other," she shared.
This season, the High School Girls Volleyball teams showcased what it means to work together, adapt to change, and celebrate each other's successes. With only one senior graduating, the team is ready to build on this year’s success and continue its growth in the seasons ahead.
