Season Recap: Grade 7 & 8 Soccer

The Grade 7 & 8 soccer team wrapped up an exciting season of growth and resilience. Coach Peter N’tala (‘15) set clear goals for the team this year, focusing on improving spacing and concentration—key skills for players at this stage.

Despite facing challenges like a small roster and playing several games with no substitutes, the team showed incredible perseverance. One standout moment came when they turned a 1-3 halftime deficit against Orchard into an 11-3 victory, showcasing their ability to refocus, communicate, and work as a team.

Coach N’tala expressed his gratitude to every player who stepped up this season, including the 5th and 6th graders who filled in when needed. “Next season, I’m looking forward to even more growth and more goals scored,” he shared.

Grade 7 player Beckett Garry reflected on the season, saying, “My goal this season was to beat my personal record of 28 goals. My favorite memory from this season is when we came back and beat Orchard 11-3 after being down 1-3 at the half.”

With such determination and teamwork on display, the future looks bright for the ISI soccer program!
