Season Recap: Girls Varsity Tennis

The small but mighty ISI Girls Varsity Tennis team completed a successful spring season! The team spent the season working hard to improve, and every member played a crucial role in bringing home team victories.

“My favorite memory from this season was our first team win,” Grade 9 player Veronica Sabau said. “Since we only had four people on the team, we needed each of us to win our matches in order to have a team win. This made winning extra special.”

The players each had different goals to improve their play, from footwork to increasing serve speed. They learned their hard work can lead to exciting achievements and overcoming challenges.

“Every team win was great because we worked so hard, and it paid off,” Grade 10 player Gabrielle Vergnaud said.

Through their hard work and determination, the team had a successful season! With no graduating seniors, the players look forward to improving and growing in the sport next year.

“As such a young team, we wanted to secure a couple of team wins this season. We are proud to say that we did,” Head Coach Haley Bougher said. “Despite having to default two positions, we finished 4th at the conference with very competitive teams. We are so proud of the girls, who fought hard all season against some of the state's most competitive teams.”
