Season Recap: Girls Varsity Tennis

With a competitive schedule, the Girls Varsity Tennis Team spent the season working to improve upon their record from last season and develop the individual skills of not only returning players but also players brand new to the sport.

“For the first time in my six years as a coach, we had a winning record of 6-3,” Head Coach Haley Bougher said. “This is something that we are extremely proud of and worked hard to accomplish.”

Thanks to the hard work of the team, they were able to develop their skills to secure a third-place finish in the PAAC conference.

“My goals coming into the season were to have a higher serve percentage and to win more than 50% of my games,” Grade 11 player Melanie Kreutz said. “My favorite memories from this season were spending time with my teammates before and after matches and practices, and having a winning season.”

The team finished the season with a 6-3 record, with Kreutz being recognized as an All-Conference player for her second-place finish at the PAAC tournament.

The Extended Essay is an opportunity for students to gain experience with the independent research and writing skills expected at university. Students investigate a topic they personally care about from class and create a 4,000-word piece of independent research over the course of a year.
