Season Recap: Boys Varsity Soccer

The 2025 Boys Varsity Soccer season was one of growth, grit, and teamwork. Coming into the season, the focus was on building a strong foundation as a team, developing chemistry both on and off the field, and competing at a high level in every match. “We focused on improving our consistency, teamwork, and overall performance while giving every player the chance to grow and contribute,” said Head Coach Kamel Imine.

The season was not without its hurdles. With only 15 players on the roster, injuries and limited substitutes made many games particularly challenging. “It felt like we were always missing someone,” Coach Imine noted. “But the players showed great heart and never stopped competing, even in long or back-to-back games.”

The biggest success of the season wasn’t just measured in wins, but in growth. Players became more disciplined, communicated better, and learned to play for each other. The team’s effort and attitude shone through, even against some of the strongest competition. Highlights include making it to the sectional semi-finals and the energy of winning their Homecoming soccer game, cheered on by the entire community.

Grade 11 student Myles Maddox shared, “My biggest accomplishment was working with the freshmen on the team to create team chemistry.” Grade 11 player Oliver Driggers said his favorite memory was “winning our Homecoming soccer game with everybody cheering us on.” Matteo Coppano, also in Grade 11, reflected, “I think our biggest accomplishment of the season was making it to the sectionals semi-finals. Moving forward, my goals are to win sectionals and become a more well-rounded player.”

With the entire team returning next season and several talented 8th graders moving up, the future looks bright. Coach Imine is confident that the extra depth and experience will make the team even stronger. He also gave a special shoutout to Assistant Coaches Bayem and Vinny for their energy, ideas, and support throughout the season.

“This group gave everything they had all season long. Despite the challenges, they stayed positive and worked hard for each other,” Coach Imine said.

The 2025 season was a testament to teamwork, resilience, and growth, setting the stage for an even stronger year ahead for ISI Boys Varsity Soccer.
