Grade 4 Students Build Confidence and Community at Bradford Woods

Last week, our Grade 4 students and teachers stepped out of the classroom and into nature for their annual three-day camp at Bradford Woods. Nestled in a beautiful forest filled with lakes, wildlife, and scenic views, the camp provided the perfect backdrop for discovery, teamwork, and adventure.

From canoeing and fishing to building shelters from fallen trees, students worked together across language tracks and forged new friendships along the way. They also challenged themselves to step beyond their comfort zones with activities like ziplining, climbing, and even night hikes. The Thursday evening talent show, a camp tradition, was a highlight, complete with plenty of laughter and some surprisingly good impressions of the teachers!

This trip is intentionally held early in the school year because it helps students connect with their classmates and teachers in meaningful ways. For new students especially, it is a chance to feel fully integrated into the ISI community. On an individual level, the camp fosters resilience, self-management, and confidence, skills that carry back into the classroom and beyond.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated teachers, Nella, Afua, Willian, Yunxi, Yazmin, and Vini, who not only supported and guided students through this adventure but also shared updates and wonderful photos with families. Their leadership ensured that this year’s camp was not only safe but also filled with joy, learning, and memories our students will carry with them for years to come.
