Athletics Recap - October 5th to 11th

As the Fall Athletics Season comes to a close, teams have been competing in end-of-season tournaments and sectional play. Great job finishing the season strong, Gryphons!

10/6 | Grade 7 and 8 Soccer vs Orchard | 1-7
While the Orchard team we faced was not the same as in-season, the Gryphons fought valiantly and with heart. Captain Beckett Garry provided the lone goal for the team as we fell in the IISL semi-finals. In no way am I disappointed with the team; I am thoroughly proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we will continue to build on the greatness we’ve achieved.

10/6 | Girls Varsity Volleyball vs Eminence Jr-Sr High School | 25-18, 25-16, 25-15
The Gryphons played a strong match against Eminence, improving upon each set. The team did a great job rallying together, communicating effectively on the court, and preventing Emenence from getting a scoring run going.

10/7 | Boys Varsity Soccer vs KIPP Indy Legacy | 5-0
Our team had a great performance in our game against KIPP, earning a strong 5-0 victory. The players showed excellent teamwork, communication, and focus throughout the match. We controlled the pace of the game, created numerous scoring opportunities, and remained organized defensively to secure a clean sheet. Overall, it was a solid team effort and a great result that reflects our hard work and improvement.

10/7 | Elias Grimm | Boys Varsity Tennis Sectionals | 6-3, 6-0
Elias cruised through the first round of the individual sectional, defeating Fountain Central 6–3, 6–0. He’ll return to the court tonight at 5 p.m. at Carmel High School for the individual sectional championship against Crawfordsville.

10/8 | Girls Varsity Volleyball vs Herron-Riverside High School | 26-28, 25-8, 25-10, 25-12
Last night, the Gryphons evened their 2025 regular season record at 10-10. The team has a slow start, dropping the first set, but quickly regained their momentum. They rallied to win the next three sets, securing a strong victory over Herron Riverside to close out the regular season. The team showcased impressive serving, solid defense, and effective offense throughout the match.

In a special moment, the Gryphons honored seniors Amalia, Isabella, and Gabby on Senior Night. Each of them made significant contributions and played exceptionally well, leaving a lasting impact on the game and the season.

10/8 | Elias Grimm | Boys Varsity Tennis Sectionals | 6-1, 6-2
Elias defeated Crawfordsville 6-1 6-2 to secure the Individual Sectional Championship. He will advance to the Individual Regional at North Central on Saturday, October 18th.

10/9 | Boys Varsity Soccer vs Scecina Memorial High School | 2-6
We played our sectional semi-final against Scecina, one of the strongest teams in the tournament. It was an intense and hard-fought match from start to finish. Our players gave everything, fighting like warriors, communicating well, and playing for each other until the very last minute. There were a few difficult referee decisions that affected the game's flow, but our players maintained their focus and continued to compete with great attitude and composure. I’m extremely proud of the way they represented our team with effort, teamwork, and determination. They truly left everything on the field.
