Athletics Recap - December 1st to 7th

It was another full week of competition for the Gryphons, with our teams showing focus, grit, and school pride across every game and match. Here’s a look at the results from this week in ISI Athletics.

Student Athlete of the Week | Caleb Aikins | Boys Varsity Basketball
Caleb Aikins is off to an impressive start this season. As a freshman and first-year Varsity player, he has quickly become one of the team's top scorers. Caleb consistently gives his all in practices and games, and his positive attitude makes him a standout presence on the court.

12/3 | Grade 5 & 6 Basketball vs The Oaks Academy | 29-34
The team showed great progress tonight, playing with stronger chemistry and battling hard to the end. Rebounding proved to be the difference maker, as we came up just short on the boards in a game where every extra possession mattered. Despite that, our players competed with heart and kept the pressure on throughout. A standout performance came from Otto Kaiser, who led the team in scoring and provided a steady offensive spark all game long.

12/3 | Boys Varsity Basketball vs Eminence Jr-Sr | 32-44
The Gryphons shook off a slow, nerves-filled start to mount an impressive fourth-quarter surge. After trailing by 23, the young squad battled back to cut the deficit to just 8 before the final buzzer. Michael, Caleb, and Josh led the charge, each delivering standout performances that kept ISI in the fight. Their hustle and determination set the tone for a promising season ahead.

12/5 | Boys Varsity Basketball vs Lincoln School - Cambridge City | 53-75
The boys traveled to Cambridge City alongside the cheer squad and delivered a strong team effort. Michael Kreutz set the tone, shooting an impressive 9–10 from the field for 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Freshman Caleb Aikins added a big spark with 17 points and 5 steals, while Angus Conley filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.
