Boys Varsity Basketball vs Traders Point Christian Schools - Loss (61-84) - Similar to last Friday's game the boys varsity team played very competitively in the first period and lead 18-16. But Traders Point team was able to find six buckets in three point range which created a deficit too much to come back from. Despite this set back the boys played a very competitive 2nd half and only lost the second half by 2 points.

Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving @ Schools with No Pools - 14 out of 18 - With this meet concluded, I would say this has been a great senior night for everyone! At todays’ meet, it was odd if someone DIDN’T drop time in one of their events. With the Natatorium being our “home pool”, the girls team stepped up and put down some incredible swims, from relay splits to individual events. One student who had a great senior night was Karina Peate, who dropped 3.3 seconds in her 100 breast and dropped 1.8 seconds in her breaststroke split in the medley relay. Another performing student was Roop Bhattal, who dropped 2.7 seconds in her 50 freestyle, as well as dropping 11 seconds in her 100 free!
Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving @ Schools with No Pools - 9 out of 20 - This meet had some of the best competition that we’ve faced all year, and the men’s team came ready to race. With a couple students being sick, others had to step-up and swim some events they might not normally do. Alexander Picard-Leese had some great time drops this meet, dropping almost 5 seconds in his 100 freestyle, as well as 2 seconds in his 50Free relay split. Konrad Gossweiler also had some good improvements, dropping in every single event (half a second in his 50 free, 100 fly, and 50Fly relay split. Konrad also dropped 1.5 seconds from his best 100free relay split.

Grade 7/8 Basketball vs Traders Point - Loss (24-44) - The 7/8 basketball team played in the first round of the IISL tournament and fell in their final game of the season. The team performed better against Traders Point in the tournament than in the regular season. The team still has the PAAC tournament this weekend where they play Liberty Christian at Liberty Christian in Anderson. Coaches want the team to watch for spring and summer training opportunities.

Grade 7/8 Basketball vs Liberty Christian - Loss (23-55) - The boys 7/8 boys basketball competed in their season ending PAAC Tournament this past weekend against the Liberty Christian Lions. There will be a post season celebration planned for this week and will be communicated via email very soon.
Varsity Basketball vs Anderson Prep Academy - Loss (72-82) - The Boys Varsity Gryphon basketball team suffered a close loss over the weekend against conference opponent Anderson Prep Academy. Offensively the team played very well, we just couldn't close them down defensively and gave too many rebounds away. This is a team we will likely see again in the PAAC Cross-over Tournament later in the season.

Boys Varsity Soccer vs Shortridge - Win (4-4, 5-4 Penalties) - In what can best be described as a back and forth match the score was 1-0 in favor of the Blue Devils at the half. However, the 2nd half did not disappoint as the Gryphons rallied to keep pace with their opponent the entire game and at the end of regulation play the score was 3-3. Since this was a conference match, the game could not end in a tie so the match went to two 7 minute periods where both teams scored a goal apiece leaving it still undecided. This meant the game would be decided in penalty kicks. It was a tense time as each player faced the opponents goalie. All five of the Gryphon PK's made it past the keeper while only 4 Shortridge attempts made it past Keeper Arjun Bhattal, giving our Gryphons a well deserved win.

I appreciate the maturity shown on the court and the hard work for our first match of the year and as we continue to improve throughout the season
Girls Varsity Golf vs Edinburgh Community High School - Loss (273) - Gryphon Golf continued to rally and improved their team score by two strokes. They battled difficult opponents and a nearby live band distraction. There were sore backs and even a bloodied finger, but still smiles at the end!
Boys Varsity Soccer vs Mooresville Christian Academy - Win (3-1) - The Gryphons won with goals scored by Alexander Pecard-Leese (2) and Phillip Randolph.
Girls Varsity Volleyball vs University High School - Loss (8-25, 15-25, 12-25) - Roop played great defense and offense at the net. Ananza, Caitlyn and Asia served amazingly! Isabel did great hustling to the 2nd ball!

Varsity Boys Tennis vs Herron - Win (5-0) - All 5 varsity courts secured decisive wins over Herron.
Middle School Soccer vs The Oaks Academy - Loss (0-6) - The Gryphons started strongly and held a good team 0-0 for a good portion of the first half. Many younger students got a good run in and played hard against grade 7 & 8 students. Delano Sanchez put in a particularly strong defensive display as one of our fullbacks and Michael Bonaccorsi put in a solid game, organizing and anchoring our team in the middle of the park.
