The nutritious ISI lunch program is included in the price of annual tuition. Students never have to worry about packing lunch in the morning, and there is no worry about forgetting to send lunch money to school.

ISI is able to accommodate many student allergies and dietary restrictions. While all food provided by ISI to students is nut-free, students may still elect to bring food containing nuts to lunch/snack. Here are some of the steps we take to protect our students with food allergies:

• Communication to all parents of a class about any food allergies in that class
• Assigned seats during lunch and snack time 
• Rules that prohibit students from sharing snacks that have come from home, and in-classroom discussion about what’s expected to keep each other safe
• Required hand washing, and encouraged mouth washing and face wiping, for any student consuming lunch or a snack that may trigger another student’s immune system 
• Clear communication of any and all allergies to all assistants and kitchen staff, including the Food Services Director
• Availability of monthly lunch menu and flexibility to send a packed lunch, to be complemented by school fruits, vegetables, etc., if desired
• Clear communication of any and all allergies, including allergy history and reaction protocol, to the school nurse
• Notification of any special event where treats will be brought (birthdays, for example), so families may prepare and send an alternative for their student and/or approve consumption
• If participating in before/after care, clear communication of any and all allergies to caretakers, and the option to send snacks for consumption during childcare
