Thank you for volunteering to present to your student’s classroom regarding observances that your family celebrates. While ISI is a secular school, we welcome the opportunity to learn about the different backgrounds and practices of our students. In order to ensure that all parent presentations and/or activities are conducted in an equitable and inclusive manner, the following guidelines should be observed:
- All requests should be submitted two weeks prior to the scheduled date in order to allow time for teachers to schedule and prepare ahead of time.
- A brief summary of the activity or presentation should be shared ahead of time with the teacher.
- Parents should adhere to the total time allotted to them by the teacher and not exceed the time limit.
- ISI is a secular school; therefore, presentations should be given with the intent of creating awareness, understanding, and respect among diverse cultural, spiritual, and religious groups in our community.
- The goal of the presentation or activity should be to share the practices and rituals that your family participates in as part of your observance.
