It’s your choice! Work on your own artwork from class, create artwork for entry into an art competition such as the Scholastic Art Competition or create artwork for our school community as a service project.

The perfect opportunity for those interested in all things audiovisual, film, and filmmaking. During our time we will discuss filmmaking and explore different filmmaking techniques used by prominent directors. We will also work together on projects such as music videos and short films. 

This exciting performance group is open to students grades 6-12. Instrumental lessons through the enrichment program starting 2nd quarter will enhance your skills. Even if you don’t currently play an instrument but are interested in starting to play and becoming a member of the band, please sign up. We can also teach music reading. Those of you who are already playing an instrument make sure you’re first in line. Instruments needed included: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, drums, keyboard, violin, viola, cello, bass guitar.

To recognize and appreciate Black culture and Black issues in the community.  All students are welcome to share and learn in an open discussion based forum.

Students interact with Chinese speaking students, learn more about Chinese culture, and participate in traditional outdoor games if weather permitted. 

Participate in chess competitions with various grade cohorts and learn strategies for improving your skills.

Several large performance opportunities throughout the year including International Week Fair, Graduation, Music Concert, sporting events, assemblies and more.

This club operates and an introduction to coding.  Students will learn primarily Apple Swift, Python, MIT APP Inventor, and Vex.

High School Dance Team creates routines and performs at school events. 

Learn the basics of the world’s most popular roleplaying game: Dungeons and Dragons. Providing an opportunity for collaborative roleplay, problem solving, and team building. 

Started in 2017, Eco-panel has been working on ecological initiatives at ISI for many years.  The club will plan events, setting up a school compost, using eco-friendly cleaning materials, and more.  While discussing and considering improvements to our school’s environmental policies, we will be working closely with upper management in order to plan and execute the necessary steps to make ISI a more eco-friendly institution! Now combined with Code Green Club which through three elements (education, discussion, and action), the Code Green Club will work to engage students to create a sustainable future for ISI and the wider Indianapolis area. In CGC, one will learn about aspects of the environment (by looking at student-chosen topics) and what affects it on both a local and global level. Every club period, there will be conversations that will deepen one’s understanding of the topic being discussed, give one a chance to reflect on their   feelings, and hear the thoughts of others. One will also be able to take action, as there will be events taking place off-campus or other organized events to get more people engaged and informed about the current state of the world. Knowledge is power, and by first knowing about the environment and how it’s being affected by current actions, one can be better prepared to make change. 

Students can form teams of 1-3 students to develop ideas and a presentation for competitions. Students work on skills in teamwork and public speaking, and have opportunities to compete in multiple contests. 

Conversation in French only, study of Francophone countries and cultures, music (contemporary songs), cooking and recipes, etc. 

Led by one of our IB Diploma Global Politics students, this club is a part of a bigger organization called Team ENOUGH, which is a youth-led initiative of Brady United focused on ending gun violence through advocacy and education. They mobilize young people to become activists and engage with lawmakers to push for gun violence prevention legislation. Through this club, we will learn more about gun violence and its impact on the youth. We will work for solutions together as a group and plan actions that we are going to take. Ideally, as I'm still figuring out the logistics and everything, we would meet with policy makers to discuss the gun problem in Indiana, attend town hall meetings, we would also write letters educating the adults around us about how they can safely store their firearm, locked and unloaded, and prevent all types of gun violence that impacts young people.

Support and normalize the presence of LGBTQ+ Youth in our school community and the community around us. 

In the investment club, we discuss stocks, ETFs, and other investment strategies to grow and manage money. So, if that’s something you find interesting, consider joining the investment club. We compete in the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition and the Berkley Stock Pitch Competition.

Enjoy a relaxing time, chatting with your friends and listening to music whilst we knit for different purposes.  We will start off by recycling old sweaters (jumpers to Brits) to practice our knitting skills to make pet blankets for sale and donation to local animal shelters.  We will up our skill level by learning to knit simple mittens and beanies to donate to those in need this winter.  Money raised will be used to buy baby wool to knit special bonnets, mittens and booties for donation to the premature baby units.  We may also take time out to knit old plastic shopping bags into vegetable storage containers, maybe even plant pots.  It is great if you want to go off and challenge yourself to knit a more complicated garment.

Students will practice for and participate in individual and team mathematics competitions such as the Indiana Math League, IUPUI Mathematics, Purple Comet Mathematics and the American Mathematics Competitions.  

Prepare for and participate in the MUN Conferences. Students improve public speaking skills and learn parliamentary procedures. 

Travel to conference in: Chicago, Bloomington, IN, Washington DC.

ISI Photo Club is a hands-on club designed for high school students who want to explore the art and practice of photography. Students will explore the basics of camera operation, composition, lighting, and storytelling. We’ll also cover essential digital skills, from organizing and storing photos to basic editing techniques. The club is open to photographers of any level who have their own cameras and want to grow their skills to capture, create, and share their art. We will have a digital showcase at the school to display our work at the end of the semester! The club will be led by Marina Waters, who started her professional photography journey when she was in high school. Her work focuses on street photography, abstract photography, and portraiture.

Led by IB Diploma Global Politics students with the support of their teacher mentor, this club seeks to offer students a chance to discuss political and philosophical concepts outside of the IB curriculum, and in a non-classroom setting. 

Build a robot and participate in VEX competitions around Indianapolis.

Brush up on your science knowledge to enter science competitions throughout the year in the areas of Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

Students are also given the opportunity to enter the The Breakthrough Junior Challenge, an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos (2:00 minutes in length maximum) that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics.

Record and launch student original music on online platforms (Soundcloud, Spotify, Youtube, iTunes). Students also participate in a live performance at the ISI music concert.

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. 

Students will play a variety of sports and learn new strategies and build teamwork skills. The club allows students to have fun while practicing physical activity.

Students work with Admissions Team to promote the ISI brand and share the school’s unique story with prospective students and families.

Students will be charged with managing a wide range of events, activities, programs, policies and initiatives around International HS.  Student Government allows students to review monthly student perception surveys and discuss ways to bring meaningful and added value initiatives to ISI to promote positive student life.  Peer Leaders serve as role models in living our mission and learner profiles through our actions.

TED-Ed serves as a direct extension to the IB program at ISI.  Specifically, the Student Talks Curriculum Standards (TED-Ed, 2019) directly supports the IB Learner Profile by including 21st century skills and social emotional learning.   

ISI joins a larger group of national and international schools that offers a TED-Ed Club, where “…during TED-Ed interactions, students meet and talk with peers from their own community and abroad and practice speaking in front of large groups. TED-Ed activities include research-based, debating and public speaking exercises to help build idea development skills . (TED-Ed, Student Talks Curriculum Standards, 2019)

Timmy is a club that offers various service projects and school wide community and spirit events throughout the year. For example all school events: Fun Run, Volleyball/Basketball annual games + Spirit weeks, Penny War, leaf raking and spring cleaning, and a service mission trip in June. 

Builds graphic design skills as well as providing an opportunity to improve students’ photography and writing skills.  Meet monthly deadlines to produce the yearbook - goes for publication right after Prom.

Enjoy a time of relaxation and focus. Yoga will meet in the gym or a classroom, depending on the size of our group.

This is a club focused on students developing their writing skills with the opportunity to participate in a variety of local, state and national competitions.
