49th Street Building Gym

This signature event allows students in the Spanish language track to celebrate history, contributions, and achievements of the Hispanic culture. Participation in assemblies and celebrations is an important component of the ISI experience. We are pleased to be able to reintroduce these in-person events this school year, however, the health and safety of our community inform all in-person event decisions. Events must comply with current guidance and restrictions from the CDC, IDOH, MCDH, and school policy.

Guest Restrictions: In accordance with our school policy, indoor events have limited capacity. This is an invitation-only event. There are 118 students in the Spanish language track representing a total of 87 families. Each family in the language track will be permitted two guests for the event. This ensures equitable access for all families. We discourage bringing family members younger than 2 years of age but recognize that it may be necessary in order for a family member or caregiver to participate.

Virtual Access: A virtual viewing option will be made available via Zoom to those unable to attend in person or who prefer to participate remotely. A Zoom link will be provided in future school communications.

COVID-19 Protocols: Though increasing numbers of individuals in the U.S. are receiving COVID-19 vaccines, a high rate of transmission persists as is evident in our current dashboard. Many of our Lower School students remain ineligible to receive the vaccine. Therefore more stringent procedures are in place for Lower School events.

  • A face mask must be worn indoors for all people including students, teachers, staff, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Students will not attend the full program. To maintain cohorts in accordance with our policies students will attend their segment of the performance only.
  • Parents will not be permitted in classrooms following the performance.
  • We know parents and caregivers would like photographs of their students. Teachers and assistants will make every effort to capture individual photos of each student as well as the group and to share those following the event.

Encore Performance: Due to required exclusions from campus, an encore performance will be held for the Grade 3 Spanish Cohort on November 12 at 8:15 during the Lower School Assembly: Grade 2 French. We look forward to celebrating with you online or in-person and we thank all event participants for helping us to care for our community members.
