49th Street Building

Students may arrive at school between 8:00-8:45 a.m. The carline will not be utilized for this first day of school. Instead, all parents are asked to park in the Butler University lot to the immediate west of the 49th Street Building. Families will then use the gated entrance along Boulevard Place (just across from the Butler lot) to access the building grounds.

Families are asked to stay with their child on the black top area and escort their student to the building entry, where they will ring the bell and stop to allow parents to take a photo. Families will say their goodbyes at that point, and students will be escorted by teachers to their classrooms. There will be outdoor space for families needing additional time to say goodbye.

What to bring:

  • A flower for your child's teachers and assistants (optional)
  • Water bottle and snacks
  • School supplies (including nap time blanket/pillow if age appropriate), if not dropped off during Meet the Teacher

Inclement Weather Plan
Should thunderstorms or heavy rain be present at the start of the school day, families are asked to gather at the front doors of the school. Students will be offered the opportunity to ring the bell as they enter the lobby area, but there will be no formal program. Instead, students will go directly to their classrooms from the lobby.
