The Choice Scholarship Program (Voucher) at ISI

The International School of Indiana is a participating school in the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program (also known as the “Voucher” program). Through this program, eligible families with students in Kindergarten through grade 12, can receive partial tuition payment for ISI. The program helps support the ISI financial aid program, making an ISI education accessible to more families.

Currently, an estimated 97% of students in Indiana are eligible to receive vouchers to attend their school of choice. Beginning in July 2026, all Indiana families will be eligible for school vouchers regardless of household income. If vouchers remain at current rates, estimated vouchers for ISI students can range from approximately $6,100 to $7,400 per student, per school year.

Determining Eligibility

For the 2026-2027 school year, it is anticipated that all Kindergarten through Grade 12 ISI Families will be eligible to participate in the program; however, the state has not yet released information about the implementation.

For families participating in the Choice Scholarship Program during the 2025-2026 school year, eligibility requirements are set and verified by the State of Indiana. To be eligible for participation in the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program, the student must have legal settlement in Indiana and meet income eligibility guidelines* based on a family's 2024 federal tax returns (1040).

To get an estimate of your voucher award amount, please view the Estimated Award Amounts Document. The estimated voucher award amount is dependent on the school district where the student resides.

Household size and income are typically found on your federal tax returns, but the information below can help clarify what constitutes these items:

Income
  • For most families, income is defined as the adjusted gross income from your federal tax returns. However, for voucher purposes, the household income includes all income coming into the household, such as income from a self-owned business, child support payments received, social security, etc.
Household size
  • Children of divorced or separated parents are generally part of the household that has custody. When joint custody has been awarded, the child is considered part of the household where he/she resides for the majority of the year.
  • Children who are in college can be considered part of the household even if they are living at school.
