Technology at ISI
The heart of educational technology at ISI is the Apple 1:1 Laptop initiative. The 1:1 initiative (one laptop for every student) is essential for training the leaders of tomorrow in a world of infinite and immediately available information. Computers create an environment where students are increasingly responsible for their learning. Students try out a variety of learning styles to discover themselves as well as access and validate resources that answer questions and stimulate creativity.
We make sure that digital media is used to enhance good learning, not to replace it with something inferior. Beginning in the Middle Year Programme, our students have increased responsibility to keep up with their own projects and homework through our online portal, ManageBac. Having their own laptops allows our students to own and sustain this commitment.
Lower School students also have access to technology and both our upper and lower schools have computer facilities. Our teachers are well versed in using tablets and other electronic learning devices to enhance the PYP curriculum.
