Following a multi-month search, ISI Head of School Elizabeth Head has named Tara Evans to the position of Vice President of Enrollment Management, a role that will provide strategic oversight for new-student recruitment and admissions activities.

Evans, a current Ph.D. candidate at Indiana State University, brings 20 years of professional experience to ISI, including leadership positions in the admissions departments for Franklin College, Purdue University, and Butler University as well as service to the city of Indianapolis via roles in the Office of the Mayor and at Employ Indy.

“Tara will help reshape the way we think about and approach enrollment at ISI by bringing nearly 12 years of direct experience leading such efforts at the university level,” says Ms. Head. “Our target is to increase enrollment while maintaining a close alignment of our student profile to the mission and vision of ISI, and I am confident that Tara’s hiring will be the catalyst that gets us there.”

Evans, who leaves Franklin College as its Director of Admissions in order to join ISI, has generated growth in key enrollment categories in each of her previous positions while managing new processes in such a way that academic quality and student performance remained consistent at the various institutions.

“As a current ISI parent, I’ve sensed a renewed energy at the school, and I wanted to be a part of writing the school’s next chapter, building its next legacy,” Evans explains. “I’m excited to join and lead a strong team of enrollment specialists, and we are looking to enjoy much shared success.”

Evans brings the ISI admissions team to four, including longtime Directors Natalie Wolfe, for the Upper School, and Kate Lock, for the Lower School, along with Registrar Wendy Breeden.

Additional New Staff Join ISI Administration

The ISI advancement team has also grown in the first quarter of the year. In January, Vice President for Advancement and External Affairs Kristen Kaiser named two new members to her team.

Andrew Hayenga was named the ISI Director of Community Advancement and Marketing, joining the school from Indianapolis marketing agency Bohlsen Group.

Elizabeth Ricke was named the ISI Development Coordinator, joining the school from Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.

Both roles will support important institutional initiatives, including the ONE Campaign to unify ISI campuses.
