Elizabeth Head Biography
Elizabeth Head will join International School of Indiana (ISI) as its 3rd Head of School on January 1, 2019. She currently serves as General Director of Pan-American School, San Antonio de Belen, Costa Rica, a private, international, bilingual school, offering the full International Baccalaureate Programme, of approximately 600 students from 18 months – Grade 12 in the Central Valley of Costa Rica.
Previously, she was Pan-American School’s Vice Principal of Primary & Pre-School. Before joining the Pan-American School, she was Co-Owner, Co-Founder, and General Director of Lighthouse International School in Guachipelin, Costa Rica.
At Lighthouse International School, she had the opportunity to develop the school from its inception, which opened successfully with full enrollment in all grade levels, as well as lead the new campus through the candidacy phase of the IB authorization process.
Head brings to ISI a breadth of experience with the IB, language immersion, and strategic growth. She was drawn to ISI by its innovative approach to education; its potential for growth; and its academic rigor, faculty, students and steadfast commitment to the IB and language immersion.

A native of Colorado, Ms. Head spent her undergraduate years at University of Northern Colorado, where she studied Spanish and Education, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and receiving an endorsement in teaching as a second language. She studied at Framingham State College before earning two master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and International Education.
Head will reside in Central Indiana with her children, Emma and Liam.
