30 Year Celebration Host Committee

The host committee is made up of alumni, parents, and employee volunteers who will welcome ISI guests to campus. The host committee participates in the weekend events, communicates with constituent groups on behalf of ISI, and gathers community-specific information regarding local venues and recreational attractions. If you have an interest in assisting the 30th Anniversary Team to promote the celebration weekend, please complete the interest form below.

Host Committee Roles

Members of the Host Committee serve as an alumni, parent, or employee connection for the 30th Anniversary Team. You may be asked to host and participate in the weekend events, communicate with constituent groups on behalf of ISI, and gather community-specific information regarding local venues and recreational attractions. Assisting the 30th Anniversary Team with developing contacts with alumni families to promote the celebration weekend is an essential part of your role.

The following is a summary of the host committee’s roles for the 30th Anniversary Weekend:

BEFORE THE EVENT

  • Partner with the Advancement Team to identify and plan activities for anniversary weekend attendees.
  • Assist with fundraising activities associated with the weekend.
  • Assist in finding speakers and entertainment for the program.
  • Work with the committee to identify and secure promotional gift items.
  • Identify frequently asked questions ISI may receive from attendees – ATMs, parking, driving directions, nearby restaurants, etc. so resources can be published for the anniversary weekend.

DURING THE EVENT

  • Be available to volunteer throughout the weekend. Volunteer roles may include staffing the information/registration table to help attendees, leading a tour, and coordinating small groups for activities. 
  • Participate in daily meetings with the host committee volunteers during each day of the event weekend to review each day's events so you are knowledgeable about the event format and options for guests.
  • Serve as volunteers onsite for all logistical needs for registration, formal events, and social events.
  • May host a class gathering/activity.
  • Know where hotel services are located: restaurants, restrooms, meeting rooms, etc.

AFTER THE EVENT

  • Assist with thank yous.
  • Preparing a summary of what took place for distribution to those unable to attend.
