A New Approach to Communication at ISI

Posted by

We’re doing great things at ISI — and as we enter our 25th anniversary year, we want the internal school community and the world to know.

ISI values the importance of clear, effective communication with our stakeholders. To strengthen and enhance our communication during the 2018-2019 school year we will be taking a new approach to communication at ISI.

ISI will use our website as the foundation upon which all communication efforts are built. We have partnered with Finalsite to develop a new website that will debut later this year. In the interim, we are using our current website to its full potential, specifically the calendar which will be your go-to location for all public school events, and the parent tab which will house important FAQs, handbooks, and forms.

It is important to note that Managebac remains the School’s academic reporting platform and will contain events, dates, and information specific to your child(ren)’s academic realm.

The spring survey of ISI stakeholder conducted with our partners at Bohlsen revealed that email remains the preferred method of communicating with ISI families. However, an internal audit of last year’s communication efforts highlighted opportunities for us to limit mass emails, and to create more consistent and intentional methods of distributing information to our families.

Information will now be distributed in the following formats:

Each school day morning, starting August 14th, parents will receive “Ready for the Day: Daily News” targeted to audiences by your child(ren)’s school. The piece is intended to minimize mass emails, to streamline communication and deliver important announcements, news and events to your inbox in a clear and concise manner.

Every Friday morning during the academic year you will receive “Ready for the Week Ahead.” This e-newsletter will provide a summary of upcoming events beginning Monday and continuing through the following Sunday. Events are limited to those taking place at ISI or open to ISI participants.

The “Go Gryphons Bulletin” will be distributed once a month to share and build #ISIPride. Produced by students (with staff oversite) the publication celebrates ISI community member achievements and reports on the professional activities of alumni. Content submitted for Go Gryphons may also be used for social media. We welcome everyone to share social media and bulletin news content with us via our online submission form.

Our efforts to strengthen communication at ISI are ongoing and your input is valued. You are welcome to share your ideas and feedback with our team. We hope you and your family enjoy the final days of summer. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus for this milestone year in our school’s history.
