The International School of Indiana is committed to international understanding, the peaceful resolution of conflict and the right of all peoples to live in dignity, free from poverty, hunger, disease, violence, and oppression. Sixteen years ago, on September 11, 2001, three thousand people died in attacks on the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The United States government has declared September 11 to be Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Today we remember the innocent victims of 9/11, and we honor those who died trying to save others.
Today in remembrance, we held small ceremonies both on the Michigan Road campus and the 49th Street campus where we placed our flags at half-staff and observed a minute of silence.
Pictured below: Grade 4 Spanish class invited students to come to school today dressed up in red, white and blue in an effort to collect money for Hurricane Relief. It coincided nicely with ISI’s Patriot Day remembrance ceremony at the Lower School.
