Upper School Principal

The International School of Indiana welcomes Tim Veale as it’s new Upper School Principal.

We are delighted that Mr. Timothy Veale will join the International School of Indiana in August 2017 as our new Upper School Principal. Tim joins ISI with many years of educational experience. He has worked with all three International Baccalaureate programs and was the IB Middle Years Program coordinator at his school in Turkey.  He is currently completing his 8th year as founding head and principal at the Esbjerg International School in Esbjerg, Denmark.

Tim received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Geography and a Bachelor of Education in High School Social Studies from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He also holds a Masters in Educational Administration from Michigan State University.

He is fluent in Danish and also speaks French and some Russian.  Tim’s experience in other international schools overseas, his significant management and leadership experience along with his great love for the kind of education we provide at ISI make him well suited to leading our Upper School.

Tim is a Canadian citizen with teaching and administrative experience in international schools in Russia, Thailand, Pakistan, Turkey and Denmark. His wife, Lizette, who is Danish, their nine-year-old daughter, Olivia, and their recently born baby daughter will accompany him to ISI.

Tim says, “It is a great honor to be appointed as the next Upper School Principal at the International School of Indiana and I am very much looking forward to joining you at your terrific school! The students, staff, parents and board members I met during the interview process left me with the undoubted impression that yours is a school community I would like to be a part of. The International School of Indiana’s strong commitment to student achievement and its sense of community truly stand out to me. These are characteristics of ISI that I will work hard to support and further develop.  I look forward to starting at ISI as much as my family does towards our move to Indianapolis.  It looks like a great place to live and we are very excited about it all; so, I look forward to meeting those whom I have not yet met and to seeing again those I already have!”
