Lower School Principal, Trina Haygaru, and PYP Coordinator, Stacy Gruen, had the amazing opportunity to work with world-renowned educators from Dubai, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Kenya, Spain, Switzerland, and USA (Innovation Academy and iLead Schools) on systems-driven and compassion-based education at MIT this week.
Their workshop was led by Peter Senge, senior lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management and Mette Boell, Garrison Collaborative for Emotional, Social and Systems Education, in collaboration with Jane Drake, Head of Curriculum Innovation and Alignment, Jayne Pletser-Dent, Curriculum Manager for Inclusive Education and Pilar Quezzaire, Technology Integration Specialist at the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Also included were presentations by Mitchel Resnick, the director of the MIT media center (A LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research); John Sterman, Jay W. Forrester Professor of Management Director, MIT System Dynamics Group; Mark Greenberg, Director of The Prevention Research Center at Penn State, and several other leaders in the field of systems-driven and compassion-based education.
