A World of Arts
ISI offers a world of arts program for all children from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Along with the arts programs that are part of the curriculum, ISI provides many different extra-curricular enrichment classes, clubs and ensembles to complement the classes in general music, drama and visual arts.
- As a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Primary
Years Programme (PYP), the arts are an integral part of the Primary Years Program.
- Using an interdisciplinary approach, visual arts and music in the Lower School integrate the curriculum with the Program of Inquiry.
- Students have the opportunity to share their learning with families during the Winter Celebration, visual art exhibits and mini-musical performances.
- Extra-curricular opportunities for choral and visual art extension are available for Lower School students.
- Grade 6 students have the choice between art and band, while Grade 7 students choose between drama and band.
- Grades 8 -12 students have an elective ensemble class available to them as part of the school day schedule.
- Grade 9 students have two options among visual art, drama, and music each semester, while Grade 10 students choose the same elective for the entire year.

- Beginning Band (Grade 6) - Class instruction in woodwinds, brass and percussion
- Advanced Band (Grades 7-12) - Elective class: Continued instruction and performance
- “O”rchestra (Grades 8-12) - Elective class: Multicultural orchestral repertoire
- IB Visual Arts Diploma Programmme (Grades 11-12) - Advanced visual arts experience focused at IB level
- IB Theatre Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12) - Advanced drama/theater experience focused at IB level
- IB Music Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12) - Advanced music experience focused at IB level
- Theater Classes (Grades 7-10) - Intermediate drama/theater experience
- Fall Play-Spring Musical (Grades 1-12) - High level enrichment program for theatrically-focused
- Celebrations (Grades 1-12) - Distinct to ISI. An all-school multicultural celebration of diverse cultures, languages and viewpoints
- Discovery Week (Grades 1-3) - A week-long all-school celebration of culture.
